Final Project
While working on this project my project files got corrupted and I lost all progress two days before the due date. I had the project files backed up on a cloud, but when the files got corrupted the cloud automatically updated the files it had to be the corrupted version and I could not get an older version of the files. The project I have to show here is what I was able to recreate in two days.
Game Play Goal
The goal of this game was to create a 2D platformer with the main mechanic being a bungee cord. The player would use this bungee cord to swing across pitfalls, repel down to lower platforms, and climb up to higher platforms. The bungee cord is a way for the player to mess around and have fun with some weird physics. The bungee cord would also be used to stun monsters and then reel them in to capture them.
Game World
The original idea for this game world was to have a world infested with monsters and the main character must traverse this dangerous world. you must navigate your way through the levels by either avoiding or using your bungee cord to capture them.
Workload
Most of my time on this project was spent getting the bungee cord to work as I wanted. The bungee cord ended up being very buggy and causing a lot of errors. I spent three weeks just trying to get the bungee cord to work like I wanted it to. I was also unable to find any example online to learn from that was remotely close to what I was trying to do. Eventually, I had to simplify the design to get a working version.
